Crowds Now is an innovative and disruptive marketing platform that connects everyday people with brands, venues, film sets, events and businesses that need real human presence. You get paid to show up and be part of something real. No special skills required. No experience needed. Just you, turning up and getting paid for it.
Zero. Nothing. Not a cent. Signing up as talent is completely free and always will be. You create your profile, complete your attributes, set your availability and start finding paid opportunities. The only thing it will cost you is the effort to show up.
None. Maybe bring basic hygiene and the ability to read and follow instructions, but no professional skills, qualifications or industry experience are required. Because every job is different, there is genuinely something available for everyone.
Yes. You must be 18 or over to register and participate. Verification will require a passport or driver's licence, or equivalent government-recognised photo ID. Your passport is also what will allow you to apply for jobs in other countries alongside a valid working visa. Please review the Terms and Conditions for full detail on international eligibility.
Yes. Crowds Now is an app-based platform, so you will need a smartphone to find jobs, check in, complete briefs and get paid. If you have made it to this FAQ page, you are already most of the way there.
Crowds Now is currently live in Australia and is rolling out sequentially across New Zealand, the USA, the UK, Canada and APAC. Your passport and a valid working visa will be required for international job applications. Check the app for current availability in your region.
Yes, provided you have a valid visa that permits you to work in Australia or the relevant country. It is your responsibility to ensure you are legally entitled to accept paid work in the jurisdiction where the job is located. Crowds Now does not provide visa advice.
Yes. Crowds Now is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Yes. A portrait photo and a full-length photo are both required. These are not modelling shots. You must be fully clothed. No other people, animals, filters or objects in the frame. This is not a dating app. Your photos are used purely to verify your identity and give organisations a visual reference when selecting talent for their brief.
No. We verify that you are who you say you are, and that the person showing up to a job is the same person who registered. Your identification data is used for verification only and is not stored on our platform. The verification exists so that organisations can trust that real, legitimate people are showing up to their events.
An attribute is what makes you, you. Hair colour, eye colour, height, weight, tattoos, piercings, skin tone, facial features and more. These are the filters organisations use to find exactly the type of person they need. A hair brand looking for 40 natural redheads aged 25 to 35 will filter by those exact attributes. The more complete your attribute profile, the more likely you are to show up in the right searches and get selected for relevant jobs.
Yes. You can update your profile, photos, attributes and availability at any time through the Settings section of the app. Keeping your profile current increases your chances of being matched to the right jobs.
If your ID verification is unsuccessful you will receive an in-app notification with guidance on next steps. Common reasons for failure include blurry images, expired documents or a mismatch between your photo and your ID. Resubmit with a clear, current government-issued photo ID. If you continue to experience issues, use the Contact Us form on the website.
Absolutely. Crowds Now is not an influencer platform. We do not care how many followers you have or whether your account is public or private. No organisation is permitted to request more than three friend or follower tags in any social media post as part of a brief. Your value is your physical presence, not your follower count.
Open the app, go to the Search or Events tab and browse available opportunities in your area. Use the filters to narrow by location, distance, date, job type and pay rate. You can also save jobs to folders to review later. The more complete your attribute profile, the more relevant results you will see.
The range is broad and grows constantly. Examples include restaurant and cafe crowd activation, film and television extras, product sampling, brand activations, retail launches, sporting events, festival and concert crowd fill, commercial shoots, cosmetics testing, walking tours, corporate events and conference atmosphere. Every job is different and new briefs are posted regularly.
Find a job you want, review the brief and tap Apply. Your profile is automatically submitted to the organisation for review. You will be notified in-app once a decision is made. If approved, the job will appear in your Approved tab. If not selected, no reason is required to be given and the decision is final.
Yes, but you cannot be booked for two jobs on the same date and time. The app will flag a conflict if you attempt to apply for overlapping bookings. You will need to withdraw from an existing application before applying for a conflicting one.
Organisations select talent based on their specific brief requirements, which may include physical attributes, availability, location or other criteria. Not being selected does not reflect negatively on your profile. Keep your profile complete and your attributes accurate to improve your chances of matching future briefs.
Job briefs are typically sent no more than 24 hours before the event. For film and television extras work this is standard industry practice. You are expected to check your in-app notifications regularly. If you have accepted a job, treat it as a confirmed commitment from the moment of acceptance.
Withdrawing from a job you have accepted causes direct loss to the organisation and to other talent who may have been passed over. Repeat cancellations will result in a flag on your profile and potential suspension. If you have a genuine emergency, contact the organisation via the in-app message function as early as possible. There is no guarantee of a response.
On the day, open the app and go to the Scan tab. Point your camera at the event QR code to check in. Your attendance is recorded instantly. Follow the brief exactly as provided. When the job is complete, upload your task photo or screenshot as proof of completion and tap Upload Task and Submit. That triggers payment release.
It means doing exactly what the brief says. Every single item. Not most of it. Not a version of it. All of it. The brief is your contract. If the brief says post to TikTok, you post to TikTok. If it says tag three friends, you tag three friends. If it says check in by 10am, you are there by 10am. There is no partial completion and no grey area. Complete the brief, upload proof, get paid.
If a job has a specified start time and you miss it, you have failed to meet the parameters of the brief and you will not be paid. Being late is not covered by any exception. Plan ahead, allow for transport time and set a reminder.
That is at the discretion of the organisation. Some allow one-to-one messages, others send group communications only. For film and television extras work there is rarely any individual dialogue. You will receive your brief, follow it and show up. If there is a group message channel open, use it for essential questions only.
Ask the event organiser or a staff member on site. If you genuinely cannot locate it after making a reasonable effort, document your arrival with a time-stamped photo and contact the organisation via in-app message immediately. Do not leave without attempting check in.
Without uploaded proof of completion, payment cannot be processed. There is no manual override for missing submissions. It is your responsibility to complete the full submission process before leaving the event. Check your submission has gone through before you walk out the door.
All job funds are held in escrow by the organisation before the job goes live. Escrow is a secured holding account that guarantees the money is there before you even show up. Once you complete the job in full and submit your proof, the funds are released to your linked bank account automatically. You do not chase invoices. The system handles it.
Payment is released upon confirmation of your completed task submission. Processing time will depend on your bank and the payment cycle. You will be notified in-app when payment has been released. If you have not received funds within the expected timeframe and your submission was confirmed, use the Contact Us form.
Go to Profile, then Bank Account Details, and enter your bank account information. This must be completed before you can apply for jobs. Payment is processed via Stripe directly to your nominated account. Without a linked account, your earnings cannot be processed.
The following will result in non-payment. This is not an exhaustive list:
A full list of Terms can be found in the Terms of Service.
If you genuinely met every requirement in the brief and believe non-payment is unjust, there is a dedicated complaints process in the app. File your complaint with your evidence. However, be aware that if you file a complaint and it is found that you did not in fact complete the brief in full, your account will be suspended for a minimum of one month. Make sure your evidence is solid before filing.
Earnings through Crowds Now may be considered assessable income depending on your personal circumstances and jurisdiction. Crowds Now does not provide tax advice. You are responsible for understanding your own tax obligations. We recommend speaking with a registered tax professional if you are unsure how platform earnings affect your tax position.
All notifications are delivered in-app. There are no SMS or email notifications for job updates, approvals or brief releases, except in the case of ID verification issues. It is your responsibility to check your notifications regularly.
Then you will miss job opportunities, approval notifications and brief updates. If you accept a job and fail to show up because you missed a notification you chose to disable, you will be flagged for a no-show. Manage your notification settings with that in mind. 😊
Use the Contact Us form on the website and describe the issue in detail, including your device type, operating system version and a description of what happened. Screenshots of the problem are helpful.
We genuinely want to hear them. Submit your suggestion through the app or via the website. Crowds Now is a platform that grows based on the real experiences of the people using it, so your input is taken seriously.
Flags are a trust and conduct rating visible to organisations reviewing your profile:
Organisations can also receive flags if they fail to act with integrity toward talent.
The NDA protects the confidentiality of every organisation on the platform. Brands and businesses do not want their marketing strategies, crowd activation tactics or supplier relationships made public. When you are selected for a job, you will know which organisation it is for, but you are bound not to disclose that information publicly or to competitors. Breaching the NDA results in permanent removal from the platform.
Crowds Now is a patented double-sided marketplace that connects organisations with verified, on-demand talent for real-world presence at events, venues, activations, productions and campaigns. You brief the platform on what you need, set your pay rate and let the matching engine find the right people. Funds are held in escrow until the job is completed, so you only pay for work that is actually delivered.
Any business or entity that benefits from real human presence. This includes restaurants and cafes, retail and product launches, film and television production companies, music venues, festivals and events, conference organisers, real estate open days, sporting events, brand activations, cosmetics and product testing, hospitality groups, tourism operators and more.
There is no subscription fee to join. You pay for the talent you use on a per-job basis. The cost is based on the number of talent required, the rate you set and the duration of the job. A 20 percent service fee is added to the total talent cost and held in escrow before your event goes live. You only pay when the job is completed and verified.
Yes, confidentiality is built into the platform at every level. All talent and organisations sign a non-disclosure agreement on registration. Your brand identity, event details and marketing activities remain protected until you select and approve your talent. Publicly, jobs are displayed by general category only. Competitors cannot see which brands are using the platform or what they are doing with it.
Log in to the app, go to your Events Dashboard and tap Create Now. You will be guided through setting the event type, location, date and time, number of talent required, pay rate, talent preferences and specific attribute requirements. Once complete, review your Escrow Funding summary and confirm. Your event goes live immediately.
Yes. At any point during the event creation process you can tap Save as Draft and return to it later. Your drafts are accessible from the Drafts tab on your Events page. A draft event does not go live and does not draw down any escrow funds until you publish it.
Escrow is a secured holding account. Before your event goes live, the total talent cost plus a 20 percent service fee is drawn from your nominated payment method and held securely. This guarantees talent who complete their job will be paid. Funds are released to talent automatically once completion is verified. If a talent member does not complete the job, their portion of the escrow is returned to you.
Be specific, clear and complete. Your brief is the contract between you and your talent. It should include:
If it is not in the brief, you cannot enforce it.
There is no minimum lead time enforced by the platform, but we recommend at least 48 to 72 hours for standard events. For large-scale productions or events requiring specific physical attributes, allow more lead time. Urgent jobs posted within 24 hours are flagged as such in the listing.
Yes. After your event is live and funded, you can use the Invite Talents function from your Event Dashboard to invite specific individuals directly. This is useful when you want to reuse talent you have worked with before or when your brief has very specific attribute requirements.
From your Event Dashboard, tap View Applicants. Each applicant profile shows their photo, physical attributes, availability, flag history and previous notes from other organisations. You can approve, reject or message applicants directly. Approved talent receive their brief automatically.
Use the Talent Filter from the applicants screen. Filter by physical attributes including hair colour, eye colour, height, weight, skin tone, tattoos and more. You can also filter by distance from the event location, availability and keyword search. The more specific your brief requirements are in the event creation stage, the more targeted your applicant pool will be from the outset.
Yes. If you have worked well with specific talent, you can invite them directly to future events using the Invite Talents function. Building a preferred talent pool for repeat events is a feature the platform is designed to support.
Talent are everyday people, not professional actors, models or brand ambassadors. Your brief cannot require professional skills, dangerous activities, tasks outside public spaces without authorisation, or any conduct that would breach applicable laws. You cannot request more than three social media friend or follower tags per post. Briefs that violate Community Guidelines or Terms of Service will be removed and your account flagged.
From your Event Dashboard, tap QR Codes, then Generate QR Code. Your unique event QR code is generated within moments. You can download it, print it or share it directly. For larger events or venues with multiple entry points, you can generate multiple QR codes for different zones. Each code records talent check-ins in real time.
Open your Manage Event screen on the day. This shows you in real time who has checked in and who has checked out. You can modify check-in and check-out times if needed, mark no-shows from the participant list and send messages to individuals or the full group.
Mark them as a no-show from the Manage Event participant list. A no-show flag will be applied to their profile. Their portion of the escrow will be returned to you and they will not receive payment for that job. Repeat no-shows result in progressive platform sanctions for that talent member.
From the Manage Event or completed job screen, tap the talent member's profile and select Flag Participant. Choose the appropriate colour:
You are required to provide a note explaining the flag reason.
You do not manually pay talent. Once talent submit their completed task proof, you will see a Task Completed status against each participant. Review the Payment Summary, then tap Proceed to Pay to release funds from escrow. Talent receive payment directly to their linked accounts automatically.
If a talent member is marked as a no-show or their task submission is rejected as incomplete, their portion of the escrow is returned to your account. You only pay for verified completions. Partial completions are not paid.
The 20 percent service fee is added to the total talent cost and collected at the time of escrow funding. This covers platform operations, talent verification, payment processing, support and ongoing platform development. The fee is shown clearly in the Confirm Escrow Funding screen before you commit.
If a talent member files a dispute and you believe their completion was not in accordance with the brief, you will have the opportunity to respond with your evidence through the dispute process. Decisions are made based on the documented brief requirements and the submitted proof. Organisations found to be withholding legitimate payments will have funds released from escrow and their account suspended for a minimum of three months.
Yes. Go to Settings, then Manage Team Access. Invite a team member by email and assign their role. Roles can be configured with granular permissions covering talent management, event creation, applicant review, check-ins, messaging, financials and more. You can have a maximum of two Master Admin accounts per organisation.
Yes. From Manage Team Access, select the team member and tap Remove or Revoke Access. Their access is removed immediately. You should revoke access promptly when a team member leaves your organisation.
Go to Settings, then Organisation Details. You can update your organisation name, logo, business contact details, address and other profile information. Keeping your organisation profile complete and professional increases trust with talent reviewing your listings.
If talent have verifiably completed a brief in full and an organisation withholds payment without legitimate cause, the platform will release the funds from escrow directly to the talent and the organisation's account will be suspended for a minimum of three months. Repeat offences can result in permanent removal from the platform.
Yes. Organisations are subject to the same flag system as talent. Yellow, Red and Black flags can be applied to organisations that repeatedly fail to act with integrity, withhold payment, breach the NDA, denigrate talent or competitors, or attempt to circumvent platform rules. A Black flag results in permanent removal.
Report the breach immediately via the Contact Us form with as much detail and evidence as possible. NDA breaches are taken extremely seriously and result in permanent banning of the talent member from the platform.
All general enquiries can be submitted through the Contact Us form on the website. Technical issues, billing questions, account queries and event support requests should include as much relevant detail as possible to allow for a faster resolution.
